Agreements

Introduction:

These aren’t rules so much as shared expectations. They’re here to protect your words, acknowledge my work, and make sure we both feel good about how we collaborate.

I’ve kept things in plain English, because clarity is a form of respect, and surprises don’t belong here.

These agreements apply to all services offered through Carolina Wordworks, including proofreading, editing, transcription, and any custom projects we discuss.

Mutual Respect & Collaboration

  • I treat your work with care, confidentiality, and integrity.
  • You respect my time, expertise, and boundaries.
  • We communicate clearly and kindly, especially if something needs adjusting.

Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Your files, ideas, and personal information stay private and entirely yours without exception.
  • I won’t share any part of your work without your express permission.
  • You’re welcome to ask how I handle specific materials.  Transparency is part of the deal.

Payment & Pricing

  • Pricing is outlined on the Pricing page; no hidden fees, no surprise invoices (see pricing page for full details).
  • Payment is due as agreed before work begins or upon delivery, depending on our written agreement.
  • If something changes, we talk about it first.

Turnaround & Timing

  • I’ll give you a realistic timeline and stick to it.
  • If delays happen (life, storms), I’ll let you know right away.
  • You’re welcome to request rush work; rate to be adjusted accordingly.

Revisions & Feedback

  • I welcome constructive feedback and offer one round of revisions for most projects.
  • If you need more, we’ll discuss scope and pricing.
  • My goal is to make your work shine, not to overwrite your voice.

Final Notes

These agreements are here for our mutual benefit. If you have questions, concerns, or just want to clarify something, I’m always open to conversation.

To initiate any project, a deposit of 30% of the total estimated cost is required. This deposit serves as a mutual commitment, reserving time in my schedule and allowing me to begin work with clarity and focus.

  • Deposits are non-refundable, but they are applied toward your final invoice.
  • Work will begin once the deposit is received and the scope of the project is confirmed.
  • If the scope changes significantly, a revised estimate and deposit adjustment may be discussed.
  • Payment can be made via [insert preferred methods (PayPal, Venmo, etc.), and receipts will be provided upon request.

By submitting a deposit, you acknowledge agreement with these terms and confirm your intent to proceed.
